Open Field
Open Field is a new series of monotype works that explore time as a lived condition, where moments gather, disperse and remain in tension within a shared field.
Open Field is a body of monotype-based works on paper that approaches the field as a condition of time, presence and suspension. Built through layered monotype, graphite and selected mixed media interventions, each work emerges through accumulation, erasure and recalibration. The process resists repetition, producing singular works shaped by pressure, transfer and instability.
Across the series, horizontal and vertical structures operate as differing registers of time. Horizontal bands suggest duration as it is lived and felt, while vertical elements introduce pressure, descent and pause. The body is no longer represented directly, but implied within the field itself. Presence becomes atmospheric, emerging through weight, spacing and the distribution of marks.
Rather than depicting time, Open Field holds it as a state of encounter.
